Yes as you've heard our sweet baby boy is here! We have been living in a dream getting to know this little boy and have loved every minute of it. He is such a sweetheart.
Our story begins Tuesday. I had been feeling contractions at work that day starting around one in the afternoon. I left work and went and hung out with my mom and family. By the time I got home Tuesday night the contractions were pretty intense. We hung out for a while but by 11:30 I couldn't take anymore. We loaded up and went to the hospital. I was only at a 2 1/2 so the nurse told me that they would have to monitor me for an hour to determine if i was in active labor or not. It was the longest hour of my life!!! I was in so much pain! I was so scared they were gonna tell me I would have to go home and come back later but fortunately I made it a whole centimeter in that long hour so they let me stay.
So we checked in and around 4am I was finally comfortable and resting. It didn't last long though... I ended up with a fever which they were concerned about. But all they could do was wait and hope that it passed. Which it did after a few hours. They were finally able to break my water around 10ish. I started to feel some more of the contractions so the anesthesiologist came in and gave me an 'extra boost'. It helped me feel more comfortable but a little bit later I was in more pain. The nurse came in to check me and I told her I was feeling my contractions, which lets face it no one wants to feel. She told me I was getting close to pushing and I was just feeling pressure. About a half hour later she came back in and I told her I was feeling a lot of pain. To which she said was just more pressure. About 15 minutes after that I was feeling everything. And let me just tell you it was not pressure I was feeling. I was in so much pain. Adam tried to get the nurse to come back in and she just kept saying that she would in a few minutes. She never came. He had to find someone else to come in. That nurse believed me and called the anesthesiologist. A different guy came this time and gave me a great dose of stuff and said that whoever came earlier should have fixed my epidural dosage but didn't. Then the lamo nurse finally shows up and sees all the people in there helping me and says, "oh are you doing ok?" NO FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! Then she says its time to start pushing. Well by this point I was so numb I couldn't feel a thing. Which made pushing hard but I was grateful I couldn't feel anything. So we starting pushing and the nurse said, "well I'll be back in ten minutes, you just keep pushing." WHAT?!! Yeah she just left us there. I looked at my Mom and Adam and said, do either one of you know how to deliver a baby??? So the three of us pushed through contractions and the nurse came in every once in a while and checked to see how we were doing. We kept asking her to call the doctor and she said she would in a few more minutes. By the time the doctor was called and told to come baby Jaxon was almost here. After a few more pushes Jaxon was born at 1:32 pm, 7 pounds 13 ounces, 19.5 inches long. Everything after that was a blur until we were settled in our room and looking at our beautiful baby boy.
So here are the pictures... Enjoy!
